March 15th at 3:44pm / Cult of Mac / 0 opinionsThe Retina-ready iPad game Namco demoed onstage at Apple’s media event last week has gone live in the App Store. Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy costs $5 as a universal download for the iPhone and iPad. Like Skies of Glory and other 3D flight simulators, Sky Gamblers uses your iOS device’s accelerometer and gyroscopes to control your fighter jet in the air. The graphics looked stunning onstage last week, so we can’t wait to try this game on our new iPads this weekend!

Ghostbusters Paranormal Blast 0
August 17th at 12:45pm / Macworld / 0 opinions“Bustin’,” Ray Parker, Jr. once observed, “makes me feel good.” Mr. Parker made that declaration in song for the 1984 movie Ghostbusters. Had he instead been tasked with recording a tune for the 2012 iOS game Ghostbusters Paranormal Blast, he’d be less likely to feel enthusiastically toward busting, be it ghosts or otherwise.

January 16th at 6:10pm / The Verge / 0 opinionsThe recent spate of shootings, particularly the one in Newtown, CT, have sparked a wave of debate that tends to focus on both gun control and violent media, mostly video games. Now, in an uneasy confluence of the two, the National Rifle Association has released its own iOS shooting game, called NRA: Practice Range. Made by mobile developers Medl but apparently licensed by the NRA, the game seems designed as an aggressively uncontroversial take on guns, allowing users to move their phones to shoot skeet...

Best New Apps: 'Gentlemen!' 0
July 19th at 6:09pm / The Verge / 0 opinionsFew mobile games offer single-screen action with friends as intense and fun as Lucky Frame’s Gentlemen! Sure, there are multiplayer experiences like swapping turns in Letterpress or fighting for the highest score in Ridiculous Fishing, but nothing quite like this. It’s sort of like a two-player take on Super Crate Box mixed with Spy vs. Spy, only instead of having to kill off waves of enemies, you’ll need to dispose of a human foe sitting right across from you. You’ll compete across a handful of simple...
