Google doesn't support the format, so if I want to preserve them, I need to convert each Live Photo to a GIF using a third-party app, save it to my phone's gallery again, and delete the original. Then it gets backed up to Google Photos as a GIF, which is something you can share far beyond Apple's ecosystem....
